Unlike spring mattresses it provides uniform support (unlike point loadings of springs) and because it never loses its shape it never wears out like springs does. Whether its better for your back than a traditional spring mattress remains to be seen. Most people who use it claims that it does but there is very little scientific evidence to prove this. One thing is for sure though, it provides much more support for your entire body and the fact that it conforms to your body shape means that it will relieve a lot of the tension on the muscles in your lower back.
There is a notion that a firm mattress if the best for your hurting muscles. Apparently, this is not the case. According to research, back pain patients have reported improvement after sleeping on a medium firm mattress because it offers enhanced stability. Avoid choosing a too firm mattress because it is likely to exert pressure on some of the body parts to cause pressure points. This can in turn lead pains and aches.
As a consumer, you have a choice. Do you go with a product that has bought success in the market-place through massively expensive, clever and some would say cynical and exploitative marketing, or do you put your faith in a product that has enjoyed unqualified success for more than 100 years, the world over?
Not all mattresses come with box springs. Most bunk beds, having a limited amount of space among the bottom and best bed, will either have a lattice of metal wire or slats of wood to offer the basis for the single bed.
