The next most valuable futon accessory for kids is a wedge. Wedges are designed to make the futon sit more like a sofa when you are not using it for sleeping. Alternately, you can get gripper strips or pads that keep the mattress from sliding. Any of these items are a must- have for kids' futons. They help to keep the futon looking neat and sitting straight while kids are wiggling, shoving and bouncing, which they tend to do a lot.
"The difference in an $800 dollar mattress and a $2,000 one may not be that great, but salespeople will inundate you with "facts" about foam, coil count, and the quality of the mattress ticking. (Who looks at your ticking anyway?)"
The third step in the process is the mattress inspection. Most companies contract an independent third party inspection company to examine mattresses and or boxsprings that are believed to be defective. These inspectors are trained professionals that know what type of defects to look for and what the warranty covers. You can expect the inspector to measure the mattress and boxspring for body impressions. The inspector will also perform a pressure test on the mattress to check for void and/or missing or displaced coils. Finally, the inspector will check the frame to make sure the mattress set is being supported properly. The inspector will then submit the findings back to the retailer and the retailer notifies you of the results.
If you buy a bed, you do not stop there. You also get the pillows, comforter, sheets and throws to make the ensemble complete. Just like a bed, your kids will enjoy their futon more if they have the right materials and accessories. And you will enjoy it more too, because it looks better in the room and is much easier to keep clean.
