Pillow-top mattresses offer orthopedic support with a soft, fluffy, cushiony top to sleep on. They feature a thick, quilted, stuffed pillow-like top that is sewn onto the top of the mattress. Many are able to be flipped because they feature pillow-tops on both sides, thus prolonging the life of the mattress. It is important to note that the filling that makes the pillow-top fluffy and soft will compact down over time. However, if this happens and the sleeper notices a significant difference, a quilted mattress topper can always be added to make the bed once again fluffy and soft. Euro-top mattresses help to avoid the problem of worn down stuffing by building the additional padding into the mattress instead of sewing it on top. Foam is used in many euro-top mattresses because it absorbs energy and holds its shape well. Many euro-top mattresses offer the same amount of plush, fluffy cushioning as pillow-tops but are not as tall as pillow-tops can be. This makes it very easy to combine a euro-top mattress with a mattress topper of choice to create the sleep situation.
Also, don't be pushed into buying a more expensive version if you prefer one costing less. Beware of sales pitches that tout the benefits of pillow tops. These are something that many like as they make the mattress somewhat softer, but they also make it more expensive. Additionally, pillow tops are almost guaranteed to be the first thing to wear out on a mattress. A worn out, sagging pillow top can't be replaced; the whole mattress will have to be replaced even though the springs or base foam are perfect.
The fibers of wool can bend 20,000 times without breaking. The durable qualities of the fiber mean that the pad will last a long time before it needs replacing. Wool fibers contain a lot of air. Because of this, it does not clump or compress. The fact that wool maintains its form is the reason the fiber provides adequate support. When the body weight is evenly supported, people enjoy a comfortable rest.
Companies make such a big deal about the edges of mattresses. Restonic uses 'Super Edge Plus Technology' to ensure a firm edge; Sealy uses 'Unicased Edge Design'; and Serta uses 'Advanced Encasement Design'. What each of these manufacturers is trying to tell you is that they all use a piece of high density foam wrapped round the edge of the mattress to encase the springs - that's it and nothing more.
