Many people sleep on air mattresses thinking that they are better than memory foam mattresses as well. When you consider that air mattresses are prone to breakage that could potentially leave you without any sleeping support in the middle of the night, it is easy to see that memory foam mattresses are the better choice. An air mattress is preferable to coil mattresses for a few nights stay at a friend's or families home or while vacationing, but for long-term, maximum support that you can rely on, memory foam mattresses are truly hard to beat.
The foam that innerspring mattress manufacturers use to foam encase their mattresses is polyurethane. Therefore, judging by the warranties of the above referenced manufacturers, the foam encasement foam will soften also. If you sit on the edge of your mattress when you wake in the morning and to put on your shoes, this firm sitting edge will soften and turn into a soft sitting edge and become softer than the innerspring unit in the middle thus also changing the sleep surface at the edge.
Know your dimensions. You do not want to end up with a mattress that is too big, or too small. If your bed is an odd size, you may need to custom order your mattress.
Depending on the requirement, foam mattresses come in several sizes. From single to double to queen to king size, it is advisable to check the dimension of the mattress you need before visiting a store. Failing to check this aspect would not get you the right size and results in waste of time and money. If you are not clear or confused about finding the right dimensions of the mattress, you can even consult the store or manufacturer to get more information about it.
